What Is Polyurea?
Polyurea was originally developed in the early 1990s by Texaco Chemical Company. Their chemists recognized the superior performance characteristics of polyurea and began developing it for various industrial applications. Over time it made its way into the concrete coating industry, where it is now used on residential and commercial floors alike.
At Integrity Concrete Coatings, we recommend polyurea for most floors. Our system puts a high-elongation polyurea base, for flexibility and adhesion, under a hard polyaspartic topcoat that is UV stable (it won't yellow in sunlight) and flexes with the slab instead of cracking. Built to Bond
A high-elongation polyurea base for flexibility and adhesion, under a hard, UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. In the ASTM D4541 pull-off test on the product data sheet, the base held at more than 400 psi and the concrete broke before the bond did.
UV Stable
Epoxy yellows in sunlight. Our topcoat is an aliphatic polyaspartic, which is UV stable, so the floor keeps its color indoors and out.
